As reported by NBA.com, Nerlens Noel will be representing the Sixers at the NBA’s annual draft lottery on Tuesday in New York City.
Showtime’s documentary “Iverson” will premiere on Saturday, May 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The documentary will go beyond the 11-time NBA All-Star’s basketball career.
Matt Barnes sat down with Sports Illustrated last month and claims that Iverson was spending $30,000 – $40,000 “everytime” they went to a gentleman’s club, saying he showed him “how NBA players spend money in strip clubs.”
Via Sports Illustrated:
One early lesson came from Iverson, his teammate for half a season in Philadelphia. “Allen was the first guy that showed me how NBA players spend money in strip clubs,” Barnes says. “That guy went. HARD. He’d throw so much money, and this was when I was first in the league, that I used to take my foot and scoop the s— under my chair and either re-throw it or put some in my pocket. He’d throw $30,000, $40,000 every time we went. I’m like, ‘You realize what I can do with this money?’”
Iverson sat down with Josh Innes and Tony Bruno last Friday from the Innes and Bruno show on 610 WIP in Las Vegas.
AI: “I don’t know what Matt is talking about,” Iverson said with a laugh. “I was rich at 21, so ain’t no telling what I may have done, but I know I ain’t do that.”
Today is the 13th anniversary of Iverson’s practice rant:
Patrick Corcoran, a current Sixers season ticket holder, hits a half-court shot and wins season tickets for next season. This lucky fan was celebrating his birthday at Friday’s game against the Clippers. The Sixers still have a lot to worry about with filling seats again next season. After giving away tickets this season.

According to ESPN, the NBA Attendance Report – 2015 ranks the Sixers 30/30 with 520,386 in attendance. The Sixers were within the top 5 in attendance from 2001-2004.
The Sixers are currently in rebuilding mode. Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel will have opportunities to shine with the team. Nerlens Noel is already making a run towards rookie of the year. Nerlens is currently #5 in Points Per Game Leader with 9.9 PTS. Embiid continues to be good at using twitter and making YouTube videos from his bed.
I was looking at my emails today during lunch. Of course, I always get an email from the Sixers. The Sixers sent this email for tonight’s game for Sixers vs. Jazz. The Sixers are letting kids in FREE with the purchase of a full price ticket for up to five kids. Crazy or just desperate?
As reported by Boston Herald, former Sixer Evan Turner is puzzled about the Sixers trading Michael Carter-Williams.
Here is what Evan Turner says:
“That’s psycho, too,” he said of trading the 2014 rookie of the year. “I don’t know what they’re doing over there, to tell you the truth. Michael is going to benefit from going to Milwaukee. They have a great young core, on top of the fact that Jason Kidd is a point guard coach and it will help him grow as a PG.”
“I really don’t know. They traded Jrue Holiday, who was a 22-year-old All-Star. A class-act kid, and then they got rid of him,” he said. “I don’t know. Maybe they see something. Most people don’t. It’s a sad situation. I guess their analytics team has something in mind, but that’s something only they know. We’re not in the office every day.”
Since Turner left the Sixers, his career high season was as a Sixer in 2012-2013 season. Turner had 1091 PTS, 71 STL, 58-159 3PM-A.
