The first giveaway will be on April 17 to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of America’s Classic Ballpark. The giveaway will be a America’s Classic Ballpark fleece blanket. The Pedro Martinez bobble head caught my eye, and that will be a giveaway on July 28 to celebrate Martinez’s August 9 , 2009 rehab start in Reading.

Former Phillies’ Tyler Cloyd Signs with Korea

The South Korea Samsung Lions have signed the former right-hander Phillie Tyler Cloyd. The deal is for $550,000 one-year deal with a signing bonus of $100,000. The Lions have won the past four KBO championships.

Cloyd pitched for the Phillies in 2012 and 2013, going 4-9 with a 5.89 ERA in 19 appearances, 17 of them starts. He spent last season with the minor league Triple-A team the Columbus Clippers, an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Cloyd was 10-8 with a 3.89 ERA in 27 appearances, and pitched a no-hitter July 30 against the Louisville Bats.

Ryan Howard can block trades to 20 teams

Ryan Howard has a five-year $125 million dollar contract with the Phillies, he can block trades to 20 teams according to his contract. Howard would have nine teams left that he could be traded to without his permission.

According to a source that told ESPN.com on Monday, Howard could be traded to the following nine teams without his permission: Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox.

Howard was hitting .223 with 23 home runs, 95 RBIs, 190 strikeouts in 153 games last season.

Phillies: Wandy Rodriguez agreed to a minor-league deal

According to CSNPhilly.com, The Philles have agreed to a minor-league deal with pitcher Wandy Rodriguez. The deal is pending a physical. Rodriguez missed most of 2014 with a knee injury, finishing 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA.

A Philly radio host was eating his words on Wednesday after he mocked a Phillies fan battling cancer. Ellen DeGeneres had Julie Kramer as a guest on her talk show on Monday. The Phillies second baseman Chase Utley was a surprise guest on the talk show. Utley offered Julie Kramer an open invitation to any 2015 game of her choosing.

Philly radio host Chris Stigall from WPHT commented at Utley’s gesture the next morning, he says “You know Chase Utley’s not going to be around to take the cancer patient to the games. It’s a nice invite, but he won’t even be here.”

Stigall mentioned Utley’s future in Philly, and then he makes this rude comment by adding, “Plus, it’s probably terminal what that women has. You think she’s going to live through an entire season?”

The Phillies and Orioles have talked about first baseman Ryan Howard this week, the New York Daily News reports.

It’s unclear how much interest the Orioles have in Howard, a player who has declined in recent years and is owed $25 million in each of the next two seasons as well as a $10 million buyout of his 2017 option. He hit .223/.310/.380 with 23 home runs and 95 RBI in 569 at-bats in 2014.

The Philadelphia Phillies traded Jimmy Rollins today to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jimmy Rollins will end his 15-year run with the Philadelphia Phillies. Rollins is a three-time All-Star shortstop who won the National League MVP in 2007.

Jimmy Rollins leaving Philadelphia is like loosing a family member. It will be different seeing him on the opposite side wearing blue instead of red.

Phillies: “strong possibility” to trade Marlon Byrd

As reported by Joel Sherman from the New York Post, There is a “strong possibility” the Phillies will move Marlon Byrd.

The Phillies could be thinking its time to part ways with the 37 year old outfielder. Byrd has a four-team no-trade list which previously included the Mariners, Blue Jays, Royals and Rays. He’s owed $8 million next season and his contract includes an $8 million club option in 2016 if he reaches 463 plate appearances next season.
