Brian Dawkins says “I think Tebow will be an Eagle”

Former Denver safety Brian Dawkins believes that Tim Tebow will be an Eagle.

“I believe Tebow will make the team,” Dawkins said. “I don’t think Matt (Barkley) did quite enough to separate the two, so I think Tebow will be an Eagle.”

Eagles trim 12 players off roster

The Eagles trimmed their roster down to 78 players. They will need to trim again to 53 players by September 5. You can expect more players to be cut soon.

Sam Bradford Ranked at #20 in Fantasy Football

According to bleacherreport.com Fantasy Football 2015: QB Rankings, Projections and Top Team Names, Sam Bradford is ranked #20 for fantasy football for this up-coming season. The projections are based on the top 20 quarterbacks at their position.

At least Bradford has 3,824 in passing yards with 26’s TD. I still can’t live with 16 interceptions.

Mark Sanchez Ranks #1 out of 32 backup quarterbacks

According to NFL.com, Mark Sanchez ranks #1 out of 32 backup quarterbacks.

It’s possible that Sanchez starts the season, but the Eagles are paying Bradford $12.985 million this year to Sanchez’s $2.5 million. If Bradford isn’t fully healthy by Week 1, Sanchez gives Chip Kelly a player familiar with the system and one who led the Jets to consecutive AFC title games. His inspired play tailed off down the stretch in 2014, but I’m also basing this off fit: Philly’s run-heavy, “QB-proof” attack is an outstanding landing spot for our top-ranked backup.

Sam Bradford’s health is always going to be a concern this up-coming season. As you already know, Bradford has not played football since 2013. Keep in mind that Sanchez could be our starting quarterback. I have my doubts that Tim Tebow will be doing anything this season. Tebow would be useful in redzone wildcat plays.

Rams have begun long-term contract talks with Nick Foles

According to ESPN, The Rams have begun long-term contract talks with Nick Foles. On Tuesday, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said that the team has begun talking with Nick Foles and his agent, David Dunn, on a long-term contract extension.

“We’ve had some discussions,” Fisher said. “I think what Nick has done early in his career, he has proven that he can get the job done on the field. He’s carried things on here so we are going to continue to talk and see if we can get something that’s good for both sides.”

Foles ended last season with 8 games played due to a left shoulder injury. He had 13 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 2,163 passing yards. In 2013, he had a career high of 13 games played, 27 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 2,891 passing yards.

A healthy Nick Foles could be dangerous if he can have another career high like he did in 2013. Foles will be entering his 4th season in the NFL. The Rams could be gambling with giving him a long-term contract if he can’t remain healthy. Good idea or not? I guess time will tell.

2013-2014 Highlights of Nick Foles:

The Eagles make the list of NFL’s most talented teams

As reported by NFL Media Analysis Bucky Brooks, The Eagles are among NFL’s most talented teams.

9) Philadelphia Eagles

Blue chips (7): OLB Connor Barwin, DE Fletcher Cox, RT Lane Johnson, C Jason Kelce, OG Evan Mathis, RB DeMarco Murray, LT Jason Peters.

On the rise: LB Kiko Alonso, CB Byron Maxwell, K Cody Parkey.

Chip Kelly has ruffled some feathers with his bold personnel moves, but skeptics can’t question the depth of talent on the Eagles’ roster. The offense will place the NFL’s reigning rushing king (Murray) behind one of the most talented O-lines in football. The melding of a one-cut runner and a group of blue-chip blockers (Peters, Mathis, Kelce and Johnson — who’s still a bit raw, but I’m willing to bet on his athleticism and potential) should produce fireworks in the Eagles’ zone-read system. On defense, Cox and Barwin are disruptive playmakers capable of wreaking havoc at the point of attack. Their ability to create pressure could allow Maxwell to flourish as a CB1 in a new defense. And if Alonso can get back to his rookie form after a season lost to injury, Philly fans will quickly learn to love the athletic linebacker. Parkey led the NFC in scoring as a rookie.

“On the rise” – Your short breakdown:

LB Kiko Alonso – Drafted on April 26, 2013 by the Buffalo Bills in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. Alonso signed a four-year contract on May 13, 2013. On March 10, 2015, the Bills traded Alonso to the Eagles for LeSean McCoy.

CB Bryon Maxwell – 173rd overall pick in the 6th round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. In 2014, Maxwell played in 13 games, missing three weeks with a strained calf. He had 39 tackles, 2 interceptions, 12 passes defended. In Super Bowl XLIX, Maxwell had 5 tackles, but the Seahawks lost 28-24 to the Patriots-GASP! On March 14, 2015, Maxwell signed a six-year, $63 million contract with the Eagles.

K Cody Parkey – Undrafted in 2014 draft. Parkey signed with the Colts in 2014. On August 20, 2014, He was traded to the Eagles for David Fluellen. Parkey recorded 32 FGM/36 FGA – 88.9% last season.

Mike Mayock’s mock draft lands Marcus Mariota with Titans at #2 pick. Could this be true? I guess we will find out tomorrow.

Jay Feely Calls Tim Tebow NFL’s Worst Quarterback

Jay Feely told Jim Rome on Showtime during this Wednesday’s episode that Tim Tebow is the “single-worst quarterback I ever saw.”

Tim Tebow has not played in the NFL since 2012 with the Jets. Tebow had 39 passing yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 sacks. In 2011 with the Broncos, he had 1,729 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, 33 sacks, 6 interceptions. Tebow led the Broncos to a AFC West division title and a playoff win against the Steelers.

Today, Tebow does not have the skill set to be a starter in the NFL. However, that does not mean he can’t be useful to the Eagles offense. Maybe the Eagles can use Tebow as a wildcat specialist.

The Redskins bring back a bad memory of DeSean Jackson from last season

According to Redskins Blog, DeSean Jackson will serve as the Grand Marshal on Saturday’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach pro/celebrity race. Of course, the website posted a video of DeSean Jackson’s 2014 Top Plays which was against the Eagles last season.

C’mon Man!
